“I wanted straight brass and to play some funk music and have energy, dance routines,” Thomas says. When he founded the Bayou City Brass Band, he chose a different approach. When Thomas thinks of jazz, he visualizes the quiet cool many associate with the music. Will Thomas had his image of jazz musicians shaped by his influential father Bubbha Thomas, a five-time Grammy nominated drummer who founded the Houston International Jazz Festival, August Jazz Month, and the Summer Jazz Workshop.

No shuttle service at Stagecoach Park (parking is close by) Are pets allowed? Poinsettia Community Park: North Coast Calvary Chapel, 1330 Poinsettia LaneĬalavera Park: Sage Creek High School, 3900 Cannon Road Two to three shuttles run on a continuous basis from 4:15 pm – 9:15 p.m. Please see the program and the city’s website for exact locations. At all other parks we have designated parking areas with a shuttle to and from the concert. If you can’t do that, parking is available at Stagecoach Park close to the concert site, across the street at La Costa Canyon High School and down the street at the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Days Saints. We recommend considering other ways to get to and from the concerts, like getting a ride from a friend or a ride share service. If there are no spots available on site when you arrive, parking assistants will direct you to an off-site location with pick and drop off spaces. We recommend arriving early because reserved spots at the park sites are limited. Onsite parking is available for those with official DMV-issued placards. Where is parking for people with disabilities? We recommend arranging to be dropped off, using a ride share service or parking at designated lots and using the shuttles (no shuttles at Stagecoach because parking is close by).

Unfortunately, because onsite parking is very limited, only TGIF crew, city employees who work on the concerts and others associated with the event may park at the site. Agricultural Mitigation Fee Grant ProgramĬity Services » Cultural Arts » Performing Arts TGIF Concerts in the Parks.
